Running a vertical farm during an energy crisis
Using renewable energy sources to power your vertical farm
If you are considering powering your vertical farm from a diversified energy resource or if you are generating energy and are looking for alternative connections, this webinar is for you!
Agenda
Details
IGS believes that our vertical farming technology has a significant role to play in the creation of a secure, stable and sustainable global food system. Like other industries, vertical farming is not immune from the challenges created by the availability and cost of grid energy, but utilising renewables can help greatly reduce costs and make for a more sustainable way to create produce.
In this webinar, we will discuss options for powering your vertical farm from diversified energy sources and why vertical farms are a great alternative to selling to the grid.
Join our founder & CTO, Dave Scott and a panel of experts on Thursday 21st September, 4pm BST to discover:
- How energy sources, such as solar, wind, hydro and biofuels can reduce the environmental and operational impact of indoor agriculture
- How these diversified energy sources can be used to attract investment
- How IGS works to form collaborative relationships with growers and energy infrastructure partners allowing each to recognise the benefits of a co-location partnership
- The benefits of early engagement with energy partners and why it is crucial to include this as part of your business case planning (and not after)
- How to become your own utility company; why you need to think about more than just the installation of alternative energy sources
- Data is key; why you need open data management systems
- Why its important to look to the future; the benefits of microgrids in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and, the breakout moment for electricals
Join our founder and CTO, Dave Scott, as well as Alan Wilson, Managing Director of SELECT and Travis Graham, Global Segment Leader - Indoor Growing, Schneider Electric, as they discuss all of this and more.
