The future of vertical farming
Growth & scale award winner
Watch our on-demand webinar and learn how to build a successful vertical farming business model.
Agenda
Details
As the world population is projected to reach 9.3 billion by 2050, the UN warns that we must produce 60% more food by then to meet the increasing demand.
Without significant change to our growing methods, this would require 593 million additional hectares of agricultural land — an area almost twice the size of India.
With growers struggling to keep up with this rising demand for food, the future of the food industry requires the development of the right business models to meet the growing demand for food and plants worldwide.
Vertical farming alone cannot solve world hunger or climate change, but it can contribute to addressing these challenges and finding new business models for sustainable food production.
For the industry to become profitable and sustainable, it needs to focus on achieving favourable unit economics, ROI for customers, and meeting market demand.
The webinar covers topics such as:
- Challenging some of the thoughts surrounding the vertical farming sector.
- How vertical farming can complement existing agricultural infrastructure.
- The most common challenges for the sector and how to overcome them.
